Even if you can only make small changes in the amount of movements you do every day, this will be of benefit. Keeping mobile will strengthen muscles making it easier to get around and making you more stable, thereby reducing the risk of having a fall. Lifestyle changes don’t have to be dramatic in order to see improvements. Perhaps start with being more active around the house and then try one of the activities on offer such as a short walk or a chairbased class. As you feel more confident try a more demanding activity.
