Winter Warmth Video

Older people who live in draughty accommodation with inefficient heating systems are more likely to figure amongst the preventable excess winter death statistics.
 
The Eat or Heat video shows that older people do not have to choose between eating or heating and that help is available to ensure that homes can be heated affordably.
 
Local older people have helped to develop the video which explains that cavity wall and loft insulation is available either free or at a heavily subsidised charge. It also highlights the grants that are available for installing central heating.
 
The video also covers the importance of having an annual flu jab and provides tips on keeping warm and eating well.
 
The video is being used throughout the city to highlight the importance of winter warmth. It is produced in both VHS and DVD formats and is available for £10 per copy to cover production costs.
